8 miles, easy to moderate pace the first 3 then mixed in several fairly hard uphills (mostly :45 to :60) and a rolling half mile in ~2:50. Felt pretty good, still having some groin and hip tightness and pain but stretching seems to be helping.

Thanks for the note on Poky.

Where are you, how is the running going?

John - you're a lost sheep! What's going on? I hope you are still training and groin and hip are ok.

Thanks for the interest and I'm still alive, sort of. Still having odd pains (groin, lower abdominal area) and tightness (hip/butt). It hasn't stopped me from running but I'm sort of down in the dumps. I'm doing 2/3 the usual mileage and about 1/3 the quality, if that. It's probably the inevitable as I'm 48.5 and not getting any younger. Probably won't ever see another sub-18 5K when that used to be my 20K/half-marathon pace (on a good day). Everyone has to deal with aging, I realize that. I've thought of going to a chiropractor but our insurance is terrible and wouldn't cover it so it probably won't happen.

So anyway, I'm glad a lot of you guys are running great. It's nice to see. Best of luck in your marathons next month -- I'm expecting big things! Maybe I'll get back to the blog but there's nothing interesting for me to report...
