Short-Term Running Goals:

~2:57 marathon in '08 (missed by 2:00 with a 2:59.12, but I'll take it)

Long-Term Running Goals:

Sub-3:00 marathon at age 50 (2010) and possibly a sub-2:57.15 (Georgia state 50-54 age division record) that year; continue enjoying running for another 50 years from that point!

16 miles, first 2 easy then 20K on UGA track in 1:22.15. Started relaxed with first 1600 at MP then gradually dropped the pace. Went 6:51, 6:48, 6:43, 6:38, 6:36, 6:32, 6:27, 6:25, 6:23, 6:30, 6:37, 6:33 + 3:12. (So I slowed a bit after 14,400). 5Ks were 21:12, 20:32, 20:04, 20:27. The sun popped out at about 12K and it warmed up, so had that not happened I'd have run a bit faster the final 5K. Still, a good effort.

Great workout, but why on the track? I think all the laps can cause injuries. You seem to really like the track :)

I just like the track because you always know the distances are accurate and I find I can push myself a little more. I hear you on the injury potential though -- not a good idea to go around and around (and around!) too often.
